Sheinbaum appeared at a morning press conference in Mexico City on 15 October. Mexican authorities have repeatedly stated that only domestic security forces will conduct operations within the country's national borders.
On 14 October, Mexican Foreign Minister Roberto Velasco told the Senate that bilateral relations between Mexico and Spain are at one of their best moments. An EU high level delegation visited Mexico shortly before the scheduled annual review of the T-MEC trade agreement.
