University of Guadalajara hits 100 schools with solar panels, warns budget lags inflation
The university's UdeG Verde program reached 100 schools with solar panels on September 11, 2026, while rector Karla Planter Pérez said the 2026 budget grew only 2.4%, below inflation.

On the same day, general rector Karla Planter Pérez said the university's resources did not grow in 2026, with financing unchanged from the previous year except for a 2.4% addition, which she said is below inflation. Planter Pérez lamented the flat budget and said the university is making adjustments to protect operations of university centers and the upper secondary education system (Sistema de Educación Media Superior).
