The Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa changed its educational system from in-person to distance learning for night classes in five central municipalities following the assassination of a student.
The student, Alexis N, 17, was assassinated at gunpoint in front of a bus stop near the Law Faculty in Culiacán on September 2, 2026.
The university has not said how long the distance-learning measure will remain in effect or whether it will expand to other municipalities.
